The Calm Before the Storm

August...it's here. There is no turning back the clock.

This summer has been a whirlwind of excitement for our family. From jump, we were on the go looking for adventures. From DC during Memorial Day weekend to Disney World, Ocean Isle, Six Flags, Great Wolf Lodge, Rolling Stones, O.A.R., Kris Kristofferson, Miami for work and Charleston for pleasure. Soccer camp and basketball camp to golf lessons. Strawberry picking, peach picking to even pig viewing and picking! Mastering the dive and flip off the board. And seeing every friend imagineable and obladi oblada the list goes on!!
It's not everyday Kris Kristofferson wishes you a Happy Birthday month!

This week the boys will come home and we will enter back into our famiy unit of three. Uniforms are washed and ready to get dirty. The bookbags are all filled with all the essentials needed to be successful for Kindergarten & 2nd grade and hanging by the door ready to go for the first day of school!
The Calm
The next three weeks we will enjoy the quiet before the storm. The boys still have two weeks of camp left, t-shirts have arrived for their first concert to O.C.M.S., and a little mountain tubing and a request for dinner in Middleburg is scheduled for momma's birthday.

The Storm
The Outlook Almanac scheduled the storm on August 25th, as I will drop off the munchkins to Daddy and will take off on an adventure of a lifetime to Copenhagen, Denmark. I've said it before, and I will say it again, I work for an amazing company that rewards their employees for their hard work. Of course I am upset that I will be missing the first day of school, but Greg has promised many pictures will be taken and they will be in good hands with our school family during the day and Ahma & Granddaddy at night.

After that, we will hit the ground running with Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and a little soccer where yours truly will be coaching. Yes, you read that correctly. I was asked to coach the U6 team and I willingly accepted the request. I've seen my fair share of soccer games over the years and I'm up for the challenge.

We certainly hope each and every one of you had a summer filled with R & R and you are ready to get back to the grind just as we are.

Till next time,
AP
