Raingutter Regatta

Tonight the boys had their Raingutter Regatta event for Cub Scouts. Let me first start out by saying that throughout this Cub Scout adventure of ours, and yes, adventure it has been, it has been the blind leading the blind. I remember Bryan dressing up in his uniform and he and dad spending hours in the basement painting (precisely painting and perfecting as much as two engineer brains would) Bryan's derby car and "other" things that cub scouts did. I liked baby and Barbie dolls, things that were pink and shined. I like being clean. Boys...like everything opposite. That being said, we rolled up our sleeves and got out the paint and prepared for the regatta!

With Baxter in his first year and in the Tiger den, it is a dual partnership with parents and cub scout. Therefore you have probably seen and will continue to see a lot of pictures of Baxter doing the activities because I am there and Tripp is in another room with his fellow wolves becoming more "independent" scouts!

Second, I am having a blast. As confused and lost as I may sometimes appear, watching the pure innocence and delight on each of their faces during these moments is priceless and worth the hustle and bustle after school and work to try and get dinner in the bellies and uniforms on their backs.

Part of the cub scouts motto is that you do your best and there are no winners and there are no losers. Therefore, everyone at the end of the night received a badge for their raingutter regatta event.
