First Night in his Big Boy Bed

Last night Tripp spent his first night in his new big boy bed. Greg and I were so excited to show him his new bed, but Tripp just didn't want to go upstairs. Finally, Greg and I walked up to his room and layed in his bed and we heard, "Mommy, Daddy, where are you?" We told him we were reading books in his new bed and he hurried up the stairs. We decided to leave his crib in his room in the event we needed a back up plan. When he walked into his room, we got a "Ooooh, what's this?" He immediately jumped on the bed and put his head on "my pillow." After we used the potty, brushed our teeth and face, and got our jammy jams on, all three of us piled into his new full size bed and read our books and said our prayers. He loved that mommy and daddy were both reading books at the same time since this never happens since we usually read in his chair. He looked at his crib and said, "Mine!" We said, it was yours, but since you won't stay in your crib we're going to share with the baby. He looked at both of us and pointed to his new bed and said, "Mine!" and then looked at the crib and said, "Baby!" When we said "Night-night, sleep tight" and walked out the door, he was not the happy little boy that he was just 30 seconds prior, but we gave it 2-3 minutes and he was out. We went in to check on him about five times before heading to bed ourselves and the rest of the night didn't hear a peep from him. We are so proud of how well Tripp has transitioned to his new room, to a new bed, and we can't wait for him to transition to a Big Brother!!
No, that's not a TIME OUT chair. That's the chair he stands on to look out his window to see the lawn workers and the trashman in the "Big Truck!"

Night #2 update: Another success. At 10 pm I went in to check on him and I had to laugh and call Greg upstairs to take a look for himself. He had his head and shoulders lying on the mattress and his body and legs were caught in the bed rail. We moved him but still never heard a sound from him the entire night.
