"Buzz" B-U-Z-Z

Proud
Elated
Excited
Grinning from ear to ear and giving fist pumps in my mobile office

These are the feelings I was experiencing when Ms. Orshoski sent me the email telling me that Tripp had been chosen to represent his class in the spelling bee the following morning.

Prior to scooping my little bee and little bro from after school, I stopped by a local bakery to show my excitement and celebrate this well deserved achievement.

As I called the boys to the dinner table I asked them to close their eyes and had Tripp spell cupcake. When he did he opened his eyes and gave me this smile.

We were all in bed at a decent hour to get our needed rest for the competition that kicked off at 8:30. But first, a breakfast to ignite the brain with Nutella, bananas and waffles.

At the ring of the bell, Tripp was first up! Baxter was granted permission to join me to watch him. Tripp made it through four rounds before joining the audience after spelling exempt incorrectly.

As I walked Baxter back to his class, little bro said, "Tripp did such a good job. I am so proud of him."

"Me too, buddy. Me too!"
